Babylonstoren, Shiraz 2021

Lying in the shadow of the Simonsburg and Du Toitskloof mountains of South Africa's Franschhoek Valley, the history of the sustainably farmed vineyards & orchards of Babylonstoren can be traced back to the 17th Century. Shiraz 2021 is a gorgeous, fruit driven, powerful red wine. It opens with cool cassis and pencil shavings on the nose with aromatic layers of spiciness and black pepper; leading to a very finely crafted palate with notes of blackcurrant and hints of spice. Elegant, velvety mouth-feel and long, lingering finish. Drinking well now but will continue to develop over the next 10 years.
